What red-blooded American man was not thrilled to death with Wonder Woman? From her patriotic bathing suit to her invisible airplane and her jewelry that doubled as weapons- she was the absolute best. If you want to make the best splash as Wonder Woman, start with the best costume and then add all of the right accessories. (If you can add in Lynda Carter’s killer blue eyes, you are way ahead of the game too!)
The basic Wonder Woman costume starts with the red, white and blue, star spangled bathing suit outfit and the killer gold boots. While making sure that your costume fits you well is an important thing to keep in mind, no matter what you choose to wear, it is equally as important to keep in mind with the Wonder Woman costume- if you wear the wrong size you might go from Wonder Woman to Betty the Busting Out or worse, Frannie the Flasher. Keep the size in mind when choosing your superhero costume as well as the knowledge that most costumes run slightly smaller than typical clothing. If you’re self-conscious about your look, wear a foundation garment under your costume.
For those who are a little more body conscious, adding a slightly longer cape is perfect because it not only fit’s the costume perfectly but gives you a little bit of material to hide with. If you want to show off your hourglass shape or your mighty girl thighs though, go with a slightly shorter cape instead.
The right accessories for your Wonder Woman costume includes the mind ready crown, the bullet deflecting bracelets and of course, the lariat of truth. If you would prefer, save the lariat for a more intimate costumed affair.
If you want an authentic make up look, opt for a glossy red lip gloss and really darkly fringed eyes. Superman won’t know what hit him.
