Men’s Star Wars Costumes
You cannot point a finger at a roomful of people and find a single person who has not seen at least one episode of the Star Wars movies. Everybody at one point, has seen at least one of these films at least one time. There might be a person or two who does not care for the movie, but most people were thrilled. For those people, there is a character that stood out for them, the one they would be thrilled to be. For most men, the choice comes down to good or evil and that is where the real fun comes into play. Men’s Star Wars costumes can reflect their inner feelings or can be the opposite of who they really are. We all know the nerdy little accountant who loves to slip on his Darth Vader costume and really plays the part. Good for him.
There are several options when you are discussing men’s Star Wars costumes- and you do not always have to go on the high end to get the right look. However, some of the characters can come off looking pretty chintzy if you are not careful, so choose well. With the exception of Han Solo (ably played by a very sexy Harrison Ford, I might add) all characters are either good or evil- at least most of the time. Poor Luke Skywalker does have a struggle with the Force, however he does come back to the side of Good, eventually.
The Good Guys
Star Wars Mens Costumes fall between good and bad (except for Han, of course). The good guys are not always guys though- sometimes they are robots, Wookies and other odd creatures. Yoda, the Jedi master, is a tiny fellow and is a great costume to wear, especially for men who are a little on the short side. Another great choice for the shorter man is the R2D2 unit, the feisty, spunky little robot who speaks in clicks, whistles and other noises. For best effect, get a taller, thin friend to be CP30, the most uptight robot ever created.
The Baddies
Darth Vader is the most obvious choice and what a baddie he really is. Dark from head to toe, Vader manages to choke the life out of one of his own soldiers because he questions an order and then tries to use the force to sway poor Luke. No one can deny that the Storm Troopers are scary (my poor sister still has nightmares to this day!) and they completely destroy the myth that good guys always wear white. Darth Maul, he of the red and black face and menacing attire is also a great, bad guy choice.
No matter which men’s Star Wars costume that you choose, make sure that you have the right accessories. After all, Han Solo would never show up to a party with out a photon pistol strapped to his side. Dangle your keys and tell people that you drive a Millenium Falcon- even if the side does say Mercury Cougar.
