Alright girls, gather around, I want to talk to you. Why should the boys get all of the super hero fun? Think of it: the great and colorful super hero costumes, the capes, the tights and the great accessories- it is time for us to take our stand and remind those boys that there are women’s super heroes as well. Grab your cape girls; we have a mission to do.
Superman was great, he really was, but every now and then he would be helped out by a spunky, barely grown version of himself- Super Girl would fly in and do good and then wander away. The only thing different about the Super Girl costume from Superman, is a cute red skirt- otherwise the look is the same.
How cool do you have to be to fly an invisible plane? Pretty cool, if you ask me. Wonder Woman not only flew a plane you could not see, but had a golden lariat that made you spill the beans and golden bracelets that deflected bullets. Talk about your bad ass accessories. Wonder Woman was all super hero from the top of her jet black hair to the rockin’ leather boots that she wore. Red, white and blue are the colors of her super hero costume with gold accessories and a red satin cape.
Bruce Wayne may have taken young Robin under his wing, but he did not count on Bat Girl who wears a look similar to the Dark Knight, with a black skirt attached. She does not have quite as many cool accessories, but she should still have a few- you can always change the story a bit- it is your costume and super hero fantasy, after all.
The Silk Spectre
The Watchmen’s female super hero wears a tight yellow and blue one piece outfit- she is just as capable as the others of fighting her way out of trouble and does not require male rescuing.
If you do not like any of these choices for women’s super hero costume ideas, you do have one more option: make up your own. Grab a pair of tights, a cape and be the super hero that suits you best. Me? I would be Write On, the writing super hero, writing myself in and out of situations with the speed of fast fingers and a really good word processing program- go get them girls!
