Toddler Costumes of the Animal Kind
Oh goody, all of the little beasties are out on the prowl. And what is the prey they are stalking this night? My stash of candy, the little demons! Don’t roll your eyes; the Queen of Halloween has never made it a secret that she likes her candy. But, what you may not know is that besides the chance to scare people and dress up in fantabulous costumes, Halloween is a time to ooh and aah over the little ones. I simply love toddler costumes of the animal kind; here are some of my favorites.
1. Lions and tigers and bears, Oh my!
The best toddler costumes of the animal kind make great use of plushy fabrics for both warmth and comfort. The littlest of the little ones will probably sleep through all of the festivities anyway, so there costumes have to be comfortable and soft. You do not want to have a child that is acting like a real lion, after all.
2. Butterflies, Ladybugs and Bumblebees
Still working with the soft and plush feel here these adorable bugs are perfect, especially for the little ones who might be able to stay awake for part of the evening, so that the wings can be seen. If you are opting for one of these for your little one, make sure that the wings are removable for more comfort while sitting in their car seat.
3. Puppies and Kittens
Adorable and precious, these toddler costumes of the animal kind are perfect because baby humans make very good baby animals.
4 Unicorns and ponies
The best costumes for the slightly bigger toddler are the ones that allow them to pretend. There is nothing like watching a lurching toddler who does not have full walking skills trying to trot and canter like a pony.
5. Little lambs and other fluffy farm animals.
Toddler costumes are meant to be adorable; just like them. After all, no one really wants to see a Count Diaperula or a Frankenbaby.
