Men’s Star Trek Costumes
I. Can’t. Button. My pants. Honey. I just. Can’t. Button. My pants. Oh, James Tiberius Kirk, will you never stop amusing us? Star Trek fans, (Trekkies) certainly hope not. Whether you want to play up the halting, oddly phrased delivery of William Shatner or the clipped and resonant timbre of Patrick Stewart’s Captain Picard, you can have fun with your own men’s Star Trek costumes and the countless characters that you can portray. The debate over which version of Star Trek is the best will undoubtedly rage on forever and ever, but one thing is certain: each installment had its own fan base that would fight tooth and nail for their favorite.
For the fans of the original, the men’s Star Trek costumes allow for fun because it is not about what you are wearing, but the lines that you deliver. For the crew aboard the Starship Enterprise, the uniform was well, uniform- everyone looked basically the same. However, once you start delivering some of the famous lines, everyone will know exactly who you are right away. From Captain James. T. Kirk and on, the costume is basically the same: long sleeved, vee neck shirt with black trousers. If you want to carry accessories, a phaser gun and a transporter/telecommunication device is great.
The uniform did not change very much through the other transmutations of the show however-but new groups joined the cast. The Klingons, for instance were once a bitter enemy but by the time the New Generation took to the stars, the Klingons had become an ally. Perhaps your men’s Star Trek costumes could feature some of the Klingons, the Vulcans or any of the other intergalactic races that could be found on the many shows.
To complete your look, make sure that you wear shiny black shoes ( no sneakers, please). And, while you and your friends are out and about in your men’s Star Trek costumes, please do not accept any gifts. Sure, tribbles are cute, but they can be such a hassle!
