As everyone knows, you cannot be a good, self respecting elf without loving the little ones, and believe me, I love the little ones. Elizabeth T. Elf, at your service, and today I want to take you on a tour of some of my favorite things, children’s holiday costumes. Whether they are just for holiday dress up parties or for Christmas pageants or just to add a little extra cute to the family gathering, children’s holiday costumes are cute, fun and best of all a great way to get personalized greeting cards. Here are some of my very favorite:

Santa

Who says the Big Guy has to be the big guy?  There is nothing more adorable than a toddler dressed in a Santa suit. There are versions for every size imaginable from infant to adult, so you should have no problem finding one of these. After all, it is one of the most popular children’s holiday costumes there are. For the younger ones, make sure that you are buying one that is still comfortable enough to sleep in.

Frosty

Everyone’s favorite snowman is also one of the favorite children’s holiday costumes as well. If you do not want to buy one, you can make it very simply using white sweat pants and sweat shirt with a black, silk hat. The littlest snowmen get sleeper pajamas that feature fake buttons for a real snowman look.

The Elves

All of the littlest ones look great as elves and this is one of most obvious choices in children’s holiday costumes because they are the right height, you know.

The Reindeer, the Penguins and the Other Assorted Animals

Whether they are putting on a school play or simply love the story, the little kids love to dress as Rudolph and the other reindeer. If the child is over three, add a blinking nose to his costume, otherwise stick to a little dab of nontoxic makeup to give the same effect. Penguin costumes can be made with black and white clothing for the budget conscious. Other animals might be a fluffy lamb, a camel or others found in a manger scene and also make beautiful pageant choices. What good is a shepherd without a flock?

The Christmas Angel

Whether she has golden curls or her hair is raven black, all little girls are precious dressed as the Christmas Angel, possibly one of the most fought over of the children’s holiday costumes. Make sure that they all understand that there are millions of angels and that angels do not secretly pinch each other when they think that no one is looking.
