Santa Claus Costumes – The Big Guy Himself
Nothing spells disillusioned faster than ratty Santa Claus Costumes, or worse, Santa costumes that do not quite make the grade. If you think you might be missing a key component to the costume or you think you are not quite Claus enough, then listen up, because I am the one who is going to jolly you up in the merriest of ways. Trust me, if there is anyone who knows about Santa Claus costumes it is an elf, like me, Elizabeth T. Elf. Here are the top tips for finding the best Santa Claus Costumes and how to have extra ho ho ho without all the dough, dough, dough!
From the top of Santas head:
Santa has the fluffiest of fluffy hats. It should be red with white trim, a big white ball at the head and if you really want to be merry, a jingly bell. Underneath his hat, the Great Santa has long, flowing, snow white hair with perfect little curls here and there and just a hint of magic in it. When Santa shakes his head sometimes you can hear the sound of distant snowball fights. For your own look, choose a wig with that full on appearance and make sure that it will fit your head correctly. Sorry, magic is not included.
To Santas face:
Santa has white eyebrows, wise and wooly, bright pink cheeks, like two cherries and full lush beard and mustache. If you have ever read any of the stories (and you know you have) you know that his lips are “done up like a bow”. To get the look right, most of you will have to embellish your brows and opt for the fake whiskers. Try to get them to match the hair as closely as possible. If you can, buy the whole set together so that everything looks natural. Remember, the whiskers are just as important to the look as any other part of any Santa Claus costume.
To Santas clothes:
Santa Claus Costumes come in every price range, so you can find one that is not only perfect for you, but long lasting and budget friendly as well. The softer and plusher the material, the better and more authentic the outfit will be. We all know that Santa Claus costumes are red with white fur trim. Around his middle he wears a wide black belt with a gold buckle, however in older fashioned costumes this might be a sash instead.
To Santas boots:
Some Santa Claus costumes have optional black, Santa boots that complete the look; however this is not always the case. This is where that concept of illusion comes into play- because no where can you mess up a perfectly good costume as badly as here. Imagine it: you have the perfect look from the head down to the ankles and then you have white sneakers. Take it from an elf that knows, Santa would never be caught in full gear with his sneaks on. Now, if you catch him on the B-ball court that is another story. Never tell him that I said anything, but the old guy tends to fade to the left and he has a wicked hook shot that will make you run home to mommy. Happy Holidays
