Werewolf Costume

There is something to be said for bringing back the classics in any form. There are a number of classic cartoons and sitcoms that are seeing solid air time on the cable channels that are just made for nostalgia. Sure, people want to dress in the costumes from the hottest movies when it comes time for Halloween, but there are always the people who want to go back to the old days and bring out one of the classic monster costumes. Take the werewolf for instance- the character has been resurrected more than a few times and changed with each passing decade and actor who filled the role, but underneath all of the makeup and the fur, there was still the wolfy heart that made us cringe the first time we saw him.

It is a rare woman that wants to pull on the fuzzy face and ripped up clothing, so for ladies there are other creatures- like cat woman. Back in the old days that costume was a solid, one piece, almost painted on affair, always in black and always worn with smashing panache. But, like the werewolf and other classic monster costumes, the cat woman look has evolved over the years, changing with the times and the actress who played her a well. The end all version has to be the Halle Berry inspired look which is a barely there, sexy cat woman costume to be sure, meant to be worn by the very brave or the very confident.  How would these two costumes, the sexy and the classic monster costumes, stack up against each other and how well would they work together as a pair?

The werewolf has a big, hairy face mask; the cat woman costume has a sexy, feline eye half mask. The werewolf has ripped up clothing, (changing into another species is rough on the Levi’s, you know), cat woman barely has clothing at all. (It is a midriff baring halter and leather look pants with torso crossing straps.) Accessories for the wolfman or other classic monster costumes could include a bloody arm or leg to “gnaw” on every now and then, chains to make it look like you have escaped your captor or master and a doggy dish to lap your beverages out of. Cat woman should have nothing to detract from the look, unless you count killer boots and oh, maybe a great purse to carry her cat nip and kitty toys in!  So, who wins? Sorry, I got to give it to the Wolf on this one- not very many people can carry off this particular cat woman look with ease because face it, not many women look like Halle Berry. Drat!
