Catwoman Costume – A Super Sexy Costume Idea
Quick: Name the perfect costume choice for Halloween, a costume party or just for a private dress up event. That’s right; the Catwoman costume is the perfect choice. Or, should that be “purrrfect”? From the first Catwoman, Julie Newmar, to the as of yet to be seen costume to be worn by Anne Hathaway, this has been the costume that has been the stuff dreams are made of, the costume that makes men’s hearts beat faster and women turn pea green with envy.
The “Levels” of the Catwoman Costume
There are two basic schools of thought for the Catwoman costume. First, there were the bad kitty/good girls: Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether and Eartha Kitt. Then there were the quiet, good girls who went complete cat scrat after a tragedy or one kind or another. Yes, the good girl gone bad never looked sexier than the dominatrix style costume of an over the top Michelle Pfeiffer, who gleefully channeled her inner nut job and kitty cat at the same time in a tour de force performance that still makes the comic con fan boys a little woozy around the edges. Then there is the barely there, bare as you dare costume, of a toned and amazing Halle Berry. Perhaps of all of the choices, this is the one you would have to think long and hard about trying.
Rumor has it that Anne Hathaway will be smoking hot as Catwoman, a physically demanding role that has, if the stories are to be believed, had her ripping through several of her costumes!
The Average Woman Dresses as a Super Sexy Catwoman
Once you choose which look you want to go for, it is time to find the right costume. If you don’t think you can pull off the super sexy, reflective, painted on costume, go for the slightly softer looks of the earlier Catwomen. The bonus with these is the cute little kitty ears rather than the full head covering helmet and mask. Look for a costume that will actually fit your correctly so that you can move, breathe and actually sit down throughout the night.
Another thing you might look at are the long gloves that are usually worn with the Catwoman costume, either with or without the attached kitty cat claws. If you have short or thick arms, these sometimes will not stay put like they are supposed to. You can choose to either go with bare arms, or use a slightly shorter set of gloves instead. Make sure that you still have pointy claws, though.
Finally, you should look at your shoes as the finishing touch of your costume. Nearly all of the Catwomen wore long, high heeled, black boots. Pumps are also a sexy option if you would prefer.
