Most Popular Girl’s TV and Movie Costumes for 2009

TV and Movie Costumes
If you are curious about what the girls are going to be wearing for Halloween this year, then look no further than what they are watching on TV or in theaters. In most cases you only have to look at their bedroom walls and see what smiling face is plastered up there. In no particular order, the most popular girl’s costumes this year are:
1. Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood and Ginny Weasley from the latest installment of the Harry Potter series. Poor Harry, surrounded by adoring females and a wizard to boot! Allow your child to add her own twists to the basic costume and don’t be shocked if there turns out to be dozens of these little she-wizards gamboling about.
2. Bella, from the Twilight series. Ah, vampires are truly the go-to costume of choice and with this fanciful, youth oriented series they have been given a whole new Unlife, if you will pardon the pun.
3. Hannah Montana. Oh yeah, this one is still popular. It just looks like there is no stopping the force of nature that is Miley Cyrus- she has a new line of clothing and her show has no sign of loosing popularity. The perfect costume choice for the shy girl because it might give her the goods to break out of her shell for one night. Give her a super blonde wig and a microphone and then stand back and watch the inner rock star come out.
4. Tinkerbell. Everybody’s favorite fairy got to have a voice and became a teen after all of these years. The perfect costume for those who prefer to stay on the whimsical side.
For the younger crowd:

TV and Movie Costumes
Popular shows for the toddler and elementary age set include Dora the Explorer, the Backyardigans and the Wonder Pets, all with perfectly good costume choices. Classic shows and costumes are still high on the list however and who could go wrong with Strawberry Shortcake and her friends?
Some of the older costumes can be adapted and fit for the younger girls as well. But, what about the older teens and college aged girls who still enjoy dressing up? Which costumes are right for them?
1. The Silk Spectre from the movie, the Watchmen. Sexy, smart and knows how to really throw a good punch, the Silk Spectre or Sally Jupiter are good choices from this iconic movie.
2. Sam from Transformers. Oh my goodness, what female did not dream of being Megan Fox after this movie came out? Simple costume choice because there just is not a lot too it; parents should use their own discretion when this choice is suggested by their daughters.
